The horse has been safely apprehended. 

The Medicine Hat Police Service is advising motorists of a traffic hazard on Highway 1 in the area of 1 St SW.. A horse has been observed to be on the loose on the highway corridor and running into the westbound lane of Highway 1.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and remain alert for the animal. The police service is coordinating efforts with Cypress County livestock apprehension to safety contain and remove the horse from the area, and identify the owner.
