On September 17, 2019 at approximately 4:17 PM the Medicine Hat Police Service received a report of a suspicious vehicle observed near the playground at St Louis School.

The investigation has determined that the reported vehicle was associated with a community group who had attended the area near the school to pick up a youth participant of their programming. The same vehicle also picked up another youth in the Southridge area a short time after. It has also been confirmed that no photos of youth were taken, however the driver did use her cellphone while attempting to contact the participant’s homes.

The MHPS would like to thank both the member of the public who reported their concern, and also the driver of the vehicle in question, who reached out to the MHPS after learning of the concerns circulating on social media.

The MHPS encourages members of the public to report all suspicious activity in their neighborhood by calling 9-1-1 in an emergency or 403-529-8481 for non-emergencies. Information may also be submitted via the MHPS Mobile App, which is free and available to download for both Apple and Android devices by searching ‘Medicine Hat Police Service’ on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
