During the early morning hours of September 27, 2025, members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Patrol Section conducted a vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of a 51-year-old Medicine Hat man who was a suspect in relation to a break and enter to a business that had occurred on September 24, 2025.  During this investigation police were able to recover some of stolen property and the matter remains under investigation.

Resulting from this investigation, David Messervey has been charged with;

• Break and enter x 4
• Attempt break and enter x 2
• Possession of break in tools
• Breach of probation

Messervey has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to make his next court appearance on October 1, 2025.
