On the evening of December 1, 2025, at approximately 10:40 PM, members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Patrol Section responded to a report of vehicle prowling in the 300 block of 20 Street NE.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a male suspect had fled the scene on foot. With the assistance of a drone, officers located an individual nearby who matched the provided description and was exhibiting suspicious behavior. Further investigation confirmed this individual’s involvement with the reported incident.

A 36-year-old male resident of Medicine Hat was subsequently arrested on an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with the following offenses:

• Obstruction
• Possession of stolen property
• Possession of a prohibited weapon

The individual was transported to the MHPS holding facility and later released from custody, pending a scheduled appearance before the Alberta Court of Justice on January 14, 2026.  The name of the accused cannot be released at this time as the charges have yet to be sworn to in court.
