On December 21, 2024, the Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) responded to a residence on Anson Ave SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, to assist the owner of a short-term rental with the removal of an overdue renter.
Upon arrival, officers located three individuals inside the residence: Nathan Canfield, Chase Hehr, and Brooklyn Carriere. Canfield, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large from federal corrections, was arrested at the scene.
During the investigation, officers discovered two loaded firearms, ammunition, cocaine, and evidence of drug trafficking within the residence. As a result, the following charges have been laid:
Nathan Canfield (39 years old):
Chase Hehr (42 years old):
Brooklyn Carriere (30 years old):
All three individuals were held for Judicial Interim Release hearings. Canfield was remanded into custody until January 7, 2025. Hehr was also remanded into custody until December 27, 2024, while Carriere was released and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on January 16, 2025.
