The Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) is providing an update regarding two individuals wanted in connection with an April 29, 2026, shooting in Medicine Hat which left a man seriously injured.

On July 31, 2026, Robert Bourassa was arrested by members of the Calgary Police Service. During the arrest, Bourassa attempted to flee from police and was apprehended following the deployment of a police service dog. Bourassa was subsequently held for a bail hearing and has been remanded into custody.

Levi Chudyk remains at large, and efforts are continuing to locate and arrest him in connection with this investigation.

MHPS continues to ask anyone with information regarding Chudyk’s whereabouts to contact the Medicine Hat Police Service at 403-529-8481. Members of the public are advised not to approach Chudyk and to contact police if he is observed.

The Medicine Hat Police Service thanks the Calgary Police Service for their assistance in locating and apprehending Bourassa. The investigation remains ongoing.
