On October 20, 2025, at approximately 1:25 AM, a resident on Stapeford Crescent SE reported that their vehicle had been stolen. The Medicine Hat Police Service was notified and responded to the area.
After receiving the complaint, the stolen vehicle was found near Cocks Way SE, with two individuals in proximity. When an officer activated emergency lights, both individuals ran from the scene on foot but were apprehended and taken into custody. Officers recovered cash, various bank cards, and weapons.
Resulting from this investigation, Jeremiah Amero (age 34 years) and Taylor Labash (age 29 years), both from Medicine Hat, were charged with resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, and theft of a motor vehicle. Additionally, Amero was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of controlled substances (two counts), and breach of a firearms prohibition (three counts).
Both individuals were held for a judicial interim release hearing. Amero was remanded into custody, while Labash was released on a release order to appear in court on November 13, 2025.
