On the evening of March 13, 2026, officers with the Naples Police Department responded to the 200 block of Central Avenue following a report of a burglary in progress and battery. Dispatch advised that the suspect had fled toward the beach near 1st Avenue North.
Within minutes, responding officers located a man matching the suspect’s description near the 1st Avenue North beach access and detained him for further investigation. The individual was identified as Jesse T. Blakley, 45, of unincorporated Collier County.
The investigation revealed that the incident began when a property owner approached their detached guest house and observed an unknown individual inside through a sliding glass door. When the resident attempted to enter, both the sliding door and the main entrance were locked. The resident knocked on the door and demanded the individual exit the guest house, advising that law enforcement would be called.
Shortly afterward, the suspect exited the guest house and struck the resident in the face without warning, before fleeing toward the beach.
A show-up identification was conducted, and the victim positively identified Blakley as the individual who had been inside the guest house and who struck him.
Blakley was arrested and charged with: Burglary of a Dwelling with Battery – 1st Degree Felony and Battery, Prior Conviction (Second or Subsequent Offense) – 3rd Degree Felony.
