On September 16, 2026, the Naples Police Department investigated a stalking incident with a credible threat to injure several victims. The victims reported they hired a landscaper in 2022 to repair a private yard after Hurricane Ian damaged their property. The landscaper was identified as Christopher Cueva.
After beginning the landscaping job, Cueva disappeared for half a year, leaving unfished work, which led the victims to withhold the total amount of payment originally agreed. In September 2026, Cueva began sending life-threatening messages to the victims and demanding they pay him $100,000. Cueva made the threats in person and sent them via text messages and social media accounts.
On October 8, 2026, with assistance from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Naples Police detectives located Cueva. He was taken into custody and transported to the Naples Jail Center for booking where he was charged with Written or Electronic Threats to Kill/Do Bodily Injury, Stalking/Cyberstalking, and Assault on Persons 65 Older.
Cueva remains in the custody of the Naples Jail Center.
