This Labor Day weekend, remember that your plans shouldn’t cost lives — yours or someone else’s.

During the 2024 Labor Day holiday period, 505 people were killed in traffic crashes nationwide. Of those, 170 deaths — 34% — involved an alcohol-impaired driver.

If you plan to drink, make sure your plan includes a safe way home before the first sip:

• Schedule a rideshare
• Call a taxi
• Have a sober friend drive you home

There’s no excuse for getting behind the wheel impaired. Make the smart choice, plan ahead, and get home safely.
