JUVENILE ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED

June 23rd, 2025 4:05 pm

On June 21, 2025, at approx. 6:58 PM, a 15-year-old female was approached at Coastland Center Mall by two juveniles — later identified as Joandry Silverio Perez (16) and Ayden Thonday (15), both from unincorporated Collier County.

The suspects initially asked her about an acquaintance they previously had altercations with. A short time later, they confronted her again, demanding her necklace. When she refused, one suspect lifted his shirt, exposing a firearm in his waistband, and repeated the demand. The victim refused again.

Perez then grabbed her by the necklace and threw her to the ground. After briefly walking away, both suspects returned, lifted the victim off the ground, and threw her down a second time. They repeatedly punched and kicked her while she was on the ground, forcibly removed her shoes, and damaged other personal property.

The suspects fled toward Fleischmann Park, still armed. While running through the baseball field area, they were seen pointing firearms at a witness's vehicle.

Naples Police Officers, with assistance from Collier County Sheriff’s Deputies, quickly located and safely arrested both suspects before any further violence occurred.

This is part of a recent increase in violent juvenile incidents, including a Seagate Beach shooting and multiple physical altercations in Naples.

Parents: under Florida law, you may be civilly and criminally responsible for your children’s actions. It's essential for parents to actively fulfill their role — otherwise, law enforcement may be forced to intervene with legal consequences.
