August 14th, 2024 12:03 pm

On August 13, 2024, a 54-year-old victim reported to the Naples Police Department that he had been battered in a parking lot located in the 2200 block of 9th Street North. The investigation determined that the victim had been involved in a vehicle collision at the intersection of Mooring Line Drive and 9th Street North.

Following the crash, both the victim and the driver at fault, later identified as 22-year-old Osly Moran of unincorporated Collier County, proceeded to the above referenced parking lot. When the victim informed Moran that he would be reporting the crash to police, Moran responded by punching the victim in the face. The force of the punch caused the victim to fall to the asphalt, resulting in a head laceration and a cut to his lip. Moran then fled the scene in his vehicle and the victim was subsequently taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Moran ultimately surrendered himself to the Naples Police Department later that day where he was arrested on charges of felony battery and leaving the scene of an accident. Moran was transported to the Naples Jail Center without incident.
