Deputy Jingles reminds citizens to slow down and watch for wildlife on the highways!

Tis’ the season to watch for wildlife!

Living in Sublette County, we are used to watching for wildlife on the roadways. However, this time of year, in particular, the animals are migrating and find feed near the highways. In the last few weeks alone, crashes involving animals have seen a large increase in Sublette County. The SCSO has been tracking vehicle crashes closely in 2021 and as of today, 12/20/21, there have been 365 vehicle crashes and 209 of those were involving animals being hit. That’s an average of more than one crash per day for our county!

Deputy Jingles even responded to a vehicle versus deer crash this morning! Deputy Jingles has been hearing from Rudolph and the other animals from up North who wish drivers would slow down while traveling highways this time a year. Please be extra vigilant for our animal friends crossing as they migrate.
