(Pinedale, Wyo –July 20th, 2022) Arrest made in Rendezvous weekend assault case.
On July 10th at 12:00 am, Sublette County dispatch received a call about a male subject who was injured behind the Cowboy Bar in Pinedale. SCSO and Sublette County EMS responded to find two off-duty EMS staff on scene already tending to the injured male. He was transported to the Pinedale Medical Clinic and was later flown by life-flight to EIRMC in Idaho Falls for further care. Sublette County Sheriff’s Detectives were notified and responded after Deputies on scene received information that the male had been assaulted. Investigators began interviewing potential witnesses and persons of interest over the next several days.
Yesterday, July 19th, 2022 Sublette County Sheriff’s Deputies served an arrest warrant on Chett Whitman, 25 years-old, of Big Piney Wyoming for Felony Aggravated Assault. Whitman was booked into the Sublette County Detention Center without incident.
This morning, July 20th Whitman was arraigned in Sublette County Circuit Court in front of the Honorable Curt Haws. Whitman’s bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety with a preliminary hearing scheduled July 28th at 1:30pm.
