SCSO encourages concerned public to use Tipline and Email

In recent days, our 9-1-1 communications personnel and office staff have received an overwhelming number of calls from concerned individuals worldwide. While we appreciate the expressed concern and outrage, this influx of calls is hindering our ability to respond promptly to critical situations. To ensure that our dispatchers and first responders can focus on addressing current emergencies, we kindly request that you utilize the hotline number and email already in place for non-emergency inquiries regarding issues such as the ongoing wolf situation or general questions. You can reach us via email at sheriffinfo@sublettecountywy.gov or by calling our hotline at 307-212-5108.

However, it's important to note that our communications center and 911 lines remain fully operational 24/7 for immediate threats and emergent situations. We encourage you to continue using these channels to report emergencies requiring immediate attention.

Furthermore, we would like to stress the significance of respectful communication. While we understand that many individuals may be expressing concerns and frustrations, yelling, cursing, or treating our employees disrespectfully only impedes our ability to assist you and others in need. Our communications officers, office staff, and responders are dedicated professionals deserving of courtesy and respect. Threatening government employees, our office, or local citizens is not a productive approach. We kindly request that you maintain a respectful demeanor when contacting our office.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
