(Pinedale, Wyo – December 29thth, 2021) Sublette County Communications Officer Celeste Grossman retires after serving Sublette County for over 18 years.
Celeste Grossman began her career in the communications center with the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office in 2003. At that time, the communications center consisted of a single-wide mobile home trailer parked on the lawn in front of the Sublette County Justice Building. She has been that calm, reassuring voice for so many citizens calling 911 on their worst days; whether that be providing first aid and CPR instructions, or just being a comforting voice reassuring help is on the way. As a veteran of our agency her voice is well recognized by deputies, troopers, EMT’s, and Fire Fighters of Sublette County. She made every effort to make sure first responders arrived to others emergencies and then made sure those first responders returned home safely to their families, afterwards. Celeste spent the majority of her career as a mentor, training new communications officers, and has been an instrumental member of our communication center and family. In October, 2006, Celeste was awarded the Sheriff’s Office Medal of Distinction for her efforts in saving a woman’s life while on a 9-1-1 call.
We would like to share with our community in congratulating and celebrating Celeste on her retirement as she hung up her headset for her final shift, early this morning, before many of us were even awake. Our deepest gratitude goes out to Celeste and her family for her commitment to this office and the sacrifice and service she provided to the citizens of Sublette County. We wish her all the best and a very relaxing and well-deserved retirement! Thank you! Communications Officer Celeste Grossman.
