Sublette County Emergency Management issues High-Water alert for Pine Creek 6-20-2023

Sublette County Emergency Management is issuing a high-water warning for Pine Creek below Fremont Lake. Flows into the lake have drastically increased from a high of 611 cubic feet per second to today at 2:00 pm to 2100cubic feet per second at 7:00 pm this evening.

Flows on Pine Creek below Fremont Lake will increase to 1300 cfs later this evening and continue to go up from there as we get a third push of water from the Upper Pine Creek and Titcomb Basin.

Please be wary while recreating near Pine Creek, below Fremont Lake and through Pinedale. Water flows can change very quickly and become.

Fast water is very strong and can move a vehicle in one foot of flowing water.

To put this in comparison; the Green River is currently running at 2190 cfs and Pine Creek is running at 2140 cfs, 2140 cfs equals just over 16,000 gallons per second, weighing 133,500 pounds each second.
