The WCPD is investigating the cause of a one-car fatal accident that occurred this morning on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua.

The incident occurred about 8:45 a.m. when a car traveling southbound south of Route 120 left the roadway and struck a guard rail. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The southbound lanes of the parkway were closed in that area for several hours for an investigation by Patrol officers and members of the Accident Investigation Team. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification to family members.
