Four Members Promoted to New Ranks

July 10th, 2023 1:48 pm

WCPD promoted four members to new ranks and responsibilities today at a promotion ceremony held at the Westchester County Police Academy. Fellow officers and family members packed the room to congratulate our newest lieutenant and three newest sergeants.

Promoted from sergeant to lieutenant was Jeffrey Slotoroff, who will continue to serve as commanding officer of the Narcotics Unit in the Detective Division. Lt. Slotoroff was lauded by Commissioner Raynor for his work in Narcotics as well as for his many earlier contributions to our department as a patrol officer and sergeant overseeing the Conditions Unit.

Promoted from detective to sergeant was Leonard Cooper, and promoted from police officer to sergeant were Rachel Santiago and Katori “Lamar” Wilcher. Commissioner noted that these members have done an excellent job as Patrol officers and are well prepared to take on the added responsibilities as front-line supervisors of our uniformed Patrol officers.

Our thanks to County Executive Latimer and Deputy County Executive Jenkins for joining us today to recognize the accomplishments of those who were promoted.

Congrats to our new lieutenant and sergeants. We wish them continued success in their new ranks!
