WCPD officers stood with their NYPD and law enforcement brothers and sisters on Jan. 28 in Manhattan to honor the service and sacrifice of Detective Jason Rivera. Our officers attended his funeral at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and participated in escorting his funeral procession to his final place of rest. Our Ceremonial Team joined the Yonkers PD Ceremonial Team at the Hall Place overpass in Yonkers to present the colors as the funeral procession came past. There are more difficult days ahead for the NYPD as it must bury a second hero, Police Officer Wilbert Mora.
