Westchester County Police arrested two men on robbery charges in Mount Kisco this past week in connection with two separate incidents.
Feb. 12
A 37-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges after he pushed another man to the ground and took his cell phone on East Main Street about 9 p.m. Witnesses said the suspect was panhandling inside a laundromat and became angry when the victim refused to give him any money. The suspect then shoved the victim, causing the man to fall and suffer a laceration to his forehead. When the victim took out his cell phone to call police, the accused took the phone and fled.
Officers canvassed the area, located the suspect at St. Mark’s Place and Boltis Street, and took him into custody. He was booked at County Police headquarters in Hawthorne on charges of Robbery 3rd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. He was held overnight for arraignment in Mount Kisco Justice Court.
Feb. 13
A 21-year-old village resident was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, a felony, following an investigation into a theft that occurred earlier in the week.
On Feb. 10, at 4:43 a.m., a village resident reported that he was robbed after he gave a ride to another man who asked him for a lift home. The suspect falsely told the victim he lived on Grove Street. Upon arrival at Grove Street and Laurel Drive, the suspect pulled out a small knife, placed it to the victim’s neck and demanded money. When the victim said he had no money on him, the suspect ripped a gold chain from the man’s neck and ran off. The victim called 911.
Patrol officers, including an officer with a tracking canine, canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The matter was turned over to detectives for additional investigation.
On Feb. 13, about 7 p.m., an East Hyatt Avenue resident was taken into custody by detectives from the General Investigations Unit and charged with Robbery 1st Degree in connection to the incident. He was booked at the Green Street precinct and held for arraignment.
