WCPD and Other Agencies Honor Fallen NYPD Officer

March 29th, 2024 4:09 pm

Members of the WCPD and 50 other law enforcement agencies in the Hudson Valley traveled to Queens this morning to stand in sorrow and solidarity with the NYPD and to honor the service and sacrifice of their fallen hero, PO Jonathan Diller.

The convoy of vehicles representing departments in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Dutchess counties left from the Westchester County Police Academy and traveled to the 105th Precinct. Our goal today was to stand together with the NYPD as one united law enforcement community during this time of tragedy and grief.

PO Mirko and PO Pechin of the WCPD Ceremonial Team, flanked by members of other agencies, posted memorial wreaths outside the 105th Precinct. All the assembled officers stood at attention and saluted PO Diller’s memory and sacrifice.

Today’s effort was organized by the WCPD and the Port Chester Police Department. We are grateful to all the agencies in our region that participated as one. Different Patches, Same Family
