On April 19, 2025, the Naples Police Department received a report regarding a vandalism incident involving a Tesla vehicle parked at the 7th Avenue South Beach End. Surveillance footage, captured by the vehicle’s integrated camera system, showed an unidentified male suspect intentionally scratching the side of the vehicle with a sharp object before leaving the area.

On April 30, 2025, the victim returned to the 7th Avenue South Beach End where they observed the suspect that previously vandalized their vehicle. The victim immediately notified law enforcement. Naples Police Detectives responded and identified the suspect as Dimitri George Apletcheff, a 73-year-old resident of New York.

Mr. Apletcheff was placed under arrest and charged with criminal mischief, a violation of Florida State Statute 806.13(1)(b)(2). He was subsequently transported to the Collier County Jail without incident.
