On April 6, 2025, officers from the Naples Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance at the Coastland Mall, located at 1900 9th Street North. The disturbance involved the battery to a person employed by the mall to portray the “Easter Bunny”.

According to the female victim (24 years of age), she was returning to the break room while wearing the Easter Bunny costume when approached by three juveniles. The juveniles began to physically batter the victim by pushing, shoving, and pulling at her.

An independent witness provided a sworn statement to investigating officers that corroborated the victim's account of the incident. Two of the juveniles were placed under arrest for battery (misdemeanor) and the third juvenile met the qualifications for a Juvenile Civil Citation for battery (misdemeanor).
