November 14th, 2025 5:53 pm

On November 12, 2025, a male suspect later identified as Shenghao Liang, 36, used a fraudulent Apple Pay account to purchase a Rolex watch valued at over $14,000 from Bigham Jewelers in Naples. The following day, the cardholder discovered the unauthorized charge and notified the business.

On November 13, 2025, Naples Police Cyber Crimes Unit Detectives responded to Bigham Jewelers to further investigate the fraud. While detectives were on scene, Liang returned to the store carrying the Rolex watch he had fraudulently purchased, stating he wanted the sales tag that originally accompanied it. Staff immediately identified him as the suspect from the fraudulent transaction.

When detectives confronted Liang, he refused commands and physically resisted attempts to detain him. Liang was ultimately taken into custody. A search of his wallet revealed a counterfeit Kentucky driver’s license bearing his photograph, along with a small bag of methamphetamine.

Shenghao Liang was transported to the CCSO Jail and charged with:

  • Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card Over $100
  • Possession of a Counterfeit Driver’s License
  • Resisting an Officer Without Violence
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
