The Naples Police Department is advising citizens to be aware of another phone scam regarding missed jury duty.

We have received multiple phone calls regarding a caller who is victimizing individuals by telling them they have missed jury duty and will be arrested unless they send money or gift cards. With some of the calls, the criminal is posing as legitimate Naples Police employees.

If you receive a call of this nature, hang up on the caller. As a reminder, the Naples Police Department will NEVER call an individual to tell them they have missed jury duty or have unpaid fines, or that they will be arrested if they don’t pay. We will NOT call an individual telling them they have an outstanding warrant for their arrest and they must pay the fine or they will be arrested.
