On April 3, 2025, Eric Marell Cook, a 58-year-old convicted felon, pled no contest to the charge of robbery and was adjudicated guilty for his role in an October 2024 robbery. Cook was sentenced to five years in prison and designated as a habitual violent felony offender for a robbery he committed on October 27, 2024, in the 1200 block of 5th Avenue North.
The victim reported being approached by Cook, who demanded cash. When the victim refused to comply, Cook struck him in the face with a closed fist, pushed him to the ground, and attempted to steal his wallet. After failing to obtain the wallet, Cook fled the scene on a bicycle.
Following a thorough investigation, which included interviews and the review of video
surveillance footage, Cook was identified as the suspect and placed under arrest for robbery on October 31, 2024.
Cook’s designation as a habitual violent felony offender reflects his repeated violent criminal history and ensures a lengthier sentence for his continued threat to the community.
