ELECTRIC BIKE BANDIT SHORT-CIRCUITED BY ARREST

On March 5, 2024, a victim reported the theft of their electric bicycle from Wynn’s Market (141 9th Street North) after going inside the business for approximately ten minutes. Video surveillance captured the suspect approaching the unattended electric bicycle and riding away.

On May 11, 2024, a victim reported the theft of their electric bicycle from Unidos Restaurant (1 9th Street South). A suspect was observed on video surveillance approaching the victim’s secured electric bicycle and using bolt cutters to remove the lock. The suspect then rode off on the victim’s electric bicycle.

During the investigation, Detectives identified the suspect in both thefts as Irving Rafael Lebron Ramirez, a 38-year-old resident of unincorporated Collier County.

On May 14, 2024, Ramirez was located and placed under arrest for the offense of Grand Theft, a violation of Florida State Statue 812.014 (2)(c)(1), for both theft offenses.
