During a traffic stop at 9th St. S. and 4th Ave. S., on December 31, 2024, the driver was identified Luis Martinez, who had a suspended driver’s license. Martinez was arrested for No Valid Driver's License and during a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a concealed firearm in the backpack of the passenger, Yasiel Hernandez. The firearm was both concealed and easily accessible to Hernandez. At 20 years old, Hernandez is not eligible to carry a concealed firearm. Additionally, Hernandez was found in possession of a marijuana vape pen and a glass pipe.
