During the afternoon hours of December 16, 2024, Naples Police Officers were dispatched to Baker Park in reference to a suspicious male underneath the Blair Bridge. Officers made contact with the subject, later identified as Jerry Moad (44), of unincorporated Collier County. Moad, who is listed as a transient in the North Naples area, was found in possession of a large, half-empty jug of Fireball Whiskey, in violation of Naples Ordinance 28–34(11). In addition to being in possession of alcohol in a city park, Moad is a registered sex offender with his original charge being committed against a minor. Per Florida Statute, Moad is not legally allowed to loiter within 300 feet of a park, playground, or any area where children are congregating. Moad was arrested and transported to the Naples Jail Center without incident.
