On November 10, 2024, officers with the Naples Police Department responded to a verbal disturbance at a hotel involving Jason Qazim Arif, a 38-year-old resident of Colorado. During the investigation, officers discovered Arif was a registered sex offender in Colorado. Arif was convicted in 2012 for sexual assault and exploitation of a child. Further investigation revealed Arif was visiting Collier County but failed to register as a sex offender within the parameters required by Florida State Statue.
Arif was placed under arrest for failure to register as a sex offender and was transported to the Collier County Jail without incident.
