On February 4, 2025, at approximately 3:01pm, Naples Police Department received reports of a male subject attempting to cash a fraudulent check at Fifth Third Bank, 2100 9th Street North. Upon a Naples Police Officer arriving on scene, the subject, later identified as Humberto Dequeralta Alvarez Lopez, resisted lawful detainment with violence and as a result, multiple officers responded to the location. Ultimately, Alvarez Lopez was taken into custody and further investigation revealed he was in possession of a fraudulent Texas driver’s license. During the investigation, Alvarez Lopez provided a false name and date of birth to officers, was found to be in possession of Cocaine as well as Methamphetamine, and had an active larceny warrant for his arrest, with full extradition, out of Colorado.
Alvarez Lopez was transported to the Naples Jail Center without further incident and charged with the following:
• Resisting an Officer with and without violence
• Uttering a forged instrument
• Possession of a controlled substance
• Possession of a fraudulent driver’s license
• Knowingly providing false information to a law enforcement officer
• Fugitive warrant – out of state
